The best way to get an internship with a CSU lab or with a specific professor is to reach out and contact them to ask if they could use any volunteers or interns in their lab; however, if you're looking for something else, check out our list down below :)
Exotics/Wildlife
The ECHO
This internship is a semester long and accommodating to class schedules. You will be creating educational content, raising social and financial support, supporting marketing operations etc. The organization is dedicated to helping people live in harmony with all animals. CSU Fish and Wildlife:
These Internships are available for any student that is 18 or older and interested in wildlife conservation or stewardship of the environment. More information about each internship is available through their website.
Rocky Mountain Raptor Program:
Bird care volunteer requires a 1 year commitment, minimum of one 4 hour shift per week (shifts run daily at 7am, ~10am, and 4pm)

Fort Collins Museum of Discovery:
6 month commitment, taking care of a variety of arthropods, reptiles, amphibians and rats.
There is also a Meet the Animals Program on select Saturdays which involves taking out animals and talking with the guests about them.

W.O.L.F. Sanctuary:
6 month minimum commitment, 2 days per month of volunteering, internships and volunteering available, carpool may be available.

Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center:
Volunteer and Internship Opportunities available, would recommend having a car, no nearby bus routes, animal care (require 5 hours per week) and educational positions. Check out the website for more information.
Denver Aquarium:
Volunteering available for 17 years and older
Minimum of 6 month commitment, possibility for positions all week and during the day or the evening.

Denver Zoo:
Adult volunteering available for 18+
You get to work with the keepers at the Denver Zoo. This is a great opportunity for those interested in zoo keeping.

National Wildlife Research Center internship/volunteer positions:
For Official, paid internships, students need to submit applications through the USDA. Front Range Exceptional Equestrians:
Providing a unique blend of social, physical, and emotional development through equine-assisted activities. Knowledge of horses and/or disabilities not required, although it is helpful. Volunteers assist children and adults with special needs while participating in evening classes, and with grooming and tacking horses.
